Basic Navigation Sailing Course

ATTRIBUTION Sailboats and motorboats up to 8m in length with suitable motor power The certificate also authorises the use of jet-skis SAILING AREA Up to 5 nautical miles in any direction from an accessible cove or beach CONDITIONS Pass the theory exam Pass the practical exam or give proof of at least 12 hours of practice Age: 18 or 16 with parental consent COURSE CONTENT THEORY: Nautical terms, Safety, Navigation, Sailing, Prevention of Collisions, Beaconing, Legislation PRACTICAL: Basic safety and navigation practices, which can be done during the theoretical course or up to a maximum period of 18 months after the exam. RECOGNITION OF SKIPPERS LICENSE If you pass the Basic Navigation Sailing Course and want to take the Skippers License and you are validated for everything that you have studied for the Basic Navigation Course, you will only have to be examined on the complementary part (solving charter sailing exercises). You only have 2 attempts immediately after the one you have been examined for and you have to be examined in the same place as you were awarded the Basic Navigation Sailing Course. You are examined on rules, legislation, safety, nautical terms, beaconing, elements of mooring and anchoring 4 hour practical with instructor in an equivalent vessel. On completion of these sections the School will issue the official card and deliver it to the student.

Recreational Watercraft Skipper License

ATTRIBUTION Sailboats and motorboats up to 15m in length with suitable motor power SAILING AREA Up to 12 nautical miles and inter-island navigation in the Canary and Balaeric archipelagos CONDITIONS Pass the theory exam Pass the practical exam or give proof of at least 3 days with minimum sailing of 4 hours Age: 18 or 16 with parental consent COURSE CONTENT THEORY: Naval technology, Manoeuvres, Safety at Sea, Sailing (theory and charter), Meteorology, Communications, Mechanical Propulsion, Rules and Signals, PRACTICAL: Basic safety and navigation practicals, which can be done during the theoretical course or up to a maximum period of 18 months after the exam. Optionally, the certificate can be supplemented to sail from the Peninsula to Balearic Islands and extend the length up to 24 metres by completing a continuous practical of 24 hours in the regime of a sailing day.

Yacht Skipper License

ATTRIBUTION Sailboats and motorboats up to 24m in length with suitable motor power SAILING AREA Up to 150 nautical miles CONDITIONS Have the Recreational Watercraft Skipper License Pass the theory exam Pass the practical exam or give proof of at least 4 days sailing of 5 hours, and one overnight trip Age: 18 or 16 with parental consent COURSE CONTENT THEORY: Safety, Navigation (theory and charter), Meteorology and Oceanography, Radio Procedures, Legislation and Regulation PRACTICAL: Basic safety and navigation pracitces, which can be done during the theory course or up to a maximum period of 18 months after the exam.

Light Sailing Initiation Course

Course Duration is 24 hours, 3 consecutive weekends, Saturdays and Sundays, 4 hours per day from 10:30 - 14:30 Five students per boat - 5m RAQUERO. The course aims at making first contact with a sailboat and beginning to learn about it's handling. Everyday there will be about 20 minutes of theoretical class with notes. You will learn to navigate in all directions, and all kinds of manoeuvres, facing forward, jiggling, buoy catch, manoeuvre to the cape, stop a boat, balance, trapeze, catching sails, etc. The monitor always goes with the students.

Superior Light Sailing Course

Course duration is 24 hours, 3 consecutive weekends Two students per boat - 4m VAURIEN. The aim of this course is the methodical implementation of everything learned up to this point, the combination of complex manoeuvres and learning and interpreting the Rules of Regattas and the initiation to a regatta competition.

Advanced Light Sailing Course

Course duration is 16 hours, 2 consecutive weekends Three or four students per boat - 5m RAQUERO Everyday there is 20 minutes of theory class with notes. The practice of new manoeuvres continues, paying more attention to navigation, set-ups and correct trimming of the boat. The SPINNAKER is introduced as well as docking and navigational preferences. The monitor always goes with the students.

Windsurf Course

In this course you navigate the waves, enjoying the solo sailing. Windsurfing has many advantages, such as easy transport and access to the sea, and its attractive navigation makes it one of the most popular sailing sports. Because of this and because in Badalona the sport is very popular in Badalona the school has more affluence of students in this activity. Aims of the course: Set off from the gangway Determine the wind direction Learn the parts of the boat Know the basic directions Know the typical winds of the area and navigate yourself Mark out the sailing zone Derive: concept and causes: in function of luffing Direct the iron Safety: towing, SOS signalling and equipment Learning how to rig and remove the sail Transport material Place the material on the ground Hoist: correct positioning of the feet Position the arms, hut and holster the sail To know the fall in the water Stop and start the boat Tack Gird Enter and exit the water safely The courses are 10 hours, 2 hours per day Monday to Friday or the weekend. The course price includes the lifejacket, the sailboat and sail, rescue equipment and the monitor Private lessons 1 hour 35 EUR for 2 or 2 hours 30 EUR for 4
